About Anita Waller

Anita Waller was born in Sheffield, South Yorkshire in 1946. She married Dave in 1967 and they have three adult children.

With many books to her name, she feels she has finally realised her dream. She writes mainly psychological thrillers, but was commissioned in 2018 to write a cosy mystery series, the Kat and Mouse trilogy. By November 2020 this will have grown to five books, plus a spin-off standalone novel called Epitaph, featuring Doris, one of the characters from the series.

She is now almost seventy-five years of age, happily writing most days and would dearly love to plan a novel, but has accepted that isn’t the way of her mind. Every novel starts with a sentence and she waits to see where that sentence will take her, and her characters.

In her life away from the computer in the corner of her kitchen, she is a Sheffield Wednesday supporter with blue blood in her veins!

Her genre is murder – necessary murder.

My Review of Murder Unjoyful

I wish I could give this 10 stars as Murder Unjoyful, the fifth and sadly the final instalment in the Kat and Mouse cosy mystery series, had me crying and smiling at the same time. Full of twists and turns and me shouting at my kindle.

I read this in two sittings (I tend to read at night and the first night I ended up losing track of the time and stopping at 2am oops.)

Anita is an amazing author and all her books hook you from the start and this one was no exception. I didn’t want it to end especially as this is the last one in the series, Kat, Mouse and Doris became a big part of my reading family and I am sad that it has come to a close.

I think it is time to read from the beginning again to get my Kat, Mouse and Doris fix.
