Excerpt

Bad Plumbing in a Pub Convenience

I am one kind of human person
Like a Buffalo, a Bee, or a Virus,
Born into fields of a vital relation
Built by kisses and innocent hugs:
By fertile Earth and perfumed Air
By ethnic Fire and indigenous Water,
Which mature into my wider Soul,
As a substance peopled by intelligent tribes
Who swim, or fly, betwixt Elder Mountains
And between Saints and Stars and Angels
And Gods and Ancestors.
